Mankind developed on the plains and forests of East Africa. As the sun rises over the Matthews Range deep in the heart of northern Kenya, the birds are kicking up a deafening song and the wildlife will soon begin to stir. There is an ancient, primeval sense here. This is what it must have looked like millions of years ago in this very place. Our earliest ancestors must have stood on this very spot and looked in wonder at the great orb, making its way over the distant mountains.
